One of my most favorite graffiti artist of all time is Bansky. He touched on real life situation that where happening during his time and use his graffiti to send a message. In a way to be he could have been seen as some type of activist.

Black Hand is a lot like this in a manner. He uses a stencil graffiti style muck like Bansky and hits on the issues that are going on in Iran at the present time. 

The photo above is one of a women wearing that Iran's national soccer jersey and holding up a bottle of dish washing soap.  The soap is called Jaam and when translated it means championship cup in Farsi.  This work was a reference to how Iranian women where not allowed to go into the stadiums to support their teams. It also reinforced  a political culture that encourages that Iranian women stayed home. The government not liking the image soon covered it with red paint only later to go over it completely but much like Bansky this did not stop this artist he continue to paint conversational pieces. http://designobserver.com/feature/black-hand-iranian-banksy/38536/

    The photography for this brand is nicely done. The display makes the brand one that is desireable and wanted. It give me a look at what good branding and product display can do for a brand. The use of the logo and the color change with the color of the organic juice is a great play on color.  The colors compliment each other very well. The way the branding is done helps the product compete with Nake and other organic brands on the market.
     It says in the article that the designer was hired to help with the hopes of creating a new brand that would capture the essence of their family farm growers. I believe that the designer did just this. The brand is both captivating and refreshing.

 This is a product design by Andre Urem which is a stackable candle.The article was located on Swiss  Miss website which is a design blog. The article talks about how this lady got a candle from her friend Jen. The candles are made in Gowanus in the Brooklyn area. The article has an article that links to Andre Urem website. The reason that I'm interested in the article is because I'm more into the industrial side of design. The website is cleanly set up but the photography does not do his work any justice.

I like that  the artist work can be used for what it is intend for and it is also a piece of art in itself. The are well crafted. The thought of being able to stack a candle is maybe not the most practical thing to do with a bunch of candle but the thought of expanding on the creative process of these candles is fun.

                        “Nissan Builds a Funky Electric Pickup That You Can’t Have”

            This article is really cool. I am a Nissan driver and like most model designs that they have done. I really enjoy what the engineers have done with this little truck and if on the market I would so buy one. I like that they mash several different vehicles together to create something exciting and new.  I am working on building an autonomous vehicle and this helps with my creativity thoughts on how I may be about to come up with a design for it. The thought of creating something new from old products to meet a new need is something that I enjoy seeing. This funky truck using my of the electrical design of the electric Nissan Leaf.  Meeting both a functional and economical demand of these engineers is quit cool.

A few “Thoughts on Design Pricing” is just a short article that gives the thoughts of some designer artist and how they feel about pricing. The article also links to article that these artist have writing about pricing and putting a price on an artist work. I was drawn to this article because being a freelance designer I want to be very competitive in price with other designers but I do not want to short change myself.

 One artist said this:

 “Price accurately, identify scope creep, communicate points clearly, and bill for every moment worked. I don’t propose unethical behavior, but failing to bill for your time, cheats everyone.”

Eric Karjaluoto wrote this in his article “Bill For It”,  “ A prospective customer want help planning a project to secure funding? Bill for it. A client calls to talk about a job? Bill for it.  So often as artist we seem to undermine how much time and energy that we put into our work because we enjoy what we do. Spending hours and hours working on a project and or pricing out a project before we are into it we seem to under pay ourselves when it come to having a client pay for what they are wanting. I like that in Karjaluoto in his article talks about how lawyers bill for everything even bill when they are on the bus when they are thinking.

Subtraction is the Contemporary website in which I found the article about Skyscraper Wallpapers.

Yet the article was small and I wish that it gave more insight into the process of the artists work. The French Illustrator,Romain Trystram, whom created the works of art below used a color palette that caught my eye instantly. The article says that he gave it "simplified details emphasize the sci-fi, “architecture of the absurd” quality of building trends."  In the architecture of the absurd it talks about how artist would turn or look at architecture as more of art then architecture. I believe that Trystram did just this with his wallpaper illustrations. He took building from around the world that many people would just look at as a building to a work of art. This is very compelling to me because as being and artist I like to talk not only man made object but normal object that people would just look at as being just what they are to making them have personality and bring out the beauty in which people tend to miss. These skyscraper are remarkable in the design and the illustrator was able to bring out there beauty.
